When I first started working at Ny I was a graphics producer, but with time, it slowly turned into a junior art director role. When they wanted to drop ’junior’ from my title, I wasn’t sure I was ready, but I realized that you’re never fully trained as an art director. There’s always more to learn, and everyone has a different creative process.
When you’re new, it can seem a bit scary to work here. The modern office and high standard projects definitely made me nervous in the beginning. But once you’re here, it’s all very nice and simple. People are friendly and helpful, and you have to remember that we are all just people. The variation of our projects is pretty great too. One day you might be in a stable somewhere taking pictures of horses, and the next you might be working on a furniture advert. It can feel a little weird sometimes, but I think it makes our jobs more fun.
I was quite the entertainer as a boy – I don’t really know where he went though.
Less is more. The simple things are often better.
