I’ve worked here for quite a few years now, and it’s been an incredible journey. There was perhaps ten or twelve of us back when I started. We were constantly trying to find new ways of doing things, and daring to take on certain projects even though we’d never done anything similar before. Ny has always been ambitious like that; seeing an opportunity in everything, and getting into deep water. It was scary at times, but very educational – and I’m glad we did all those things, because otherwise we wouldn’t have become the company we are today. I was a project manager back then, and I’m a project manager now, but it definitely isn’t the same thing.
Becoming a partner was never an aspiration of mine. It wasn’t about status, money or entitlement – I was just very interested in the company. And becoming a partner certainly gives you an interesting change of perspective. Your personal carrier goals are replaced with the company’s goals – or perhaps they merge together. My goals are not about me anymore. They are about Ny and the people who work here.
I used to play the clarinet.
If you’ve got drive, will and ambition, it really doesn’t matter what education or knowledge you’ve got beforehand, because everything will be possible.
